Residential Property at Wells-next-the-Sea

This spring saw the completion of this unique property in the popular seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea.

Overall the design is unique in that it represents three separate dwellings amalgamated into one.

Substantial design was involved to overcome the difficulties with flood prevention, thus the two bedroomed living accommodation is at first floor level. The ground floor reinforced concrete slab is piled, (due to a pre-existing cellar because the building is sited on a pub). It is masonry framed to first floor level and above that, steel framed with timber infill. Overall stability is achieved through plywood cladding and moment joints in steelwork.

The roof terrace provides views across the sea and is serviced by a dumbwaiter.
