Flood Risk Assessments


Our engineers regularly provide site specific 'Flood Risk Assessments' (FRAs) to accompany planning applications for both small domestic residential projects and larger commercial developments. In many commissions, the requirement to produce a flood risk assessment is triggered by the location, while in others, it is a means of documenting the absence of any additional risk associated with increased surface water run-off.


  • Level 1 Screening Study – predominantly desk based
  • Level 2 Scoping Study – a more detailed assessment supported by survey data and/or licensed information
  • Level 3 Detailed Study – likely to require site specific modelling
