SURVEYING & INVESTIGATIONS

Our surveying and investigation commissions usually fall into two separate categories; those properties suffering from a structural defect and those that will be subject to a change of use for example, higher loading.

For properties suffering from structural distress each office has a designated team of technicians and engineers who, through intricate site works, can confirm the various causes.  These works include the excavation of trial pits around the building to expose the foundations, insitu soils testing and assessment, detailed distortion surveys and crack logging with precise monitoring.  We can also organise soil samples from laboratory testing and CCTV drainage surveys.

For properties where a change of use is required or where a major extension is being proposed our commission, whilst similar to that above, also includes the assessment of the structural components of the existing and an analysis of its loadbearing capability.
