FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENTS - JPC ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES LTD

JPC Environmental Services are able to provide site specific ‘Flood Risk Assessments’ (FRA’s) which are a requirement of all planning applications for major development and for many smaller projects which fall within the Environment Agency’s indicative flood plain.  The Flood Risk Assessments are undertaken in accordance with the requirements of Planning Policy PPS 25 - "Development & Flood Risk", which replaced the earlier Planning Policy Guidance Note (PPG 25); and the detailed guidelines contained within CIRIA report 624.

When preparing Flood Risk Assessment reports, JPC Environmental Services consider -

  • The flooding hazards which may constitute a risk to the proposed development, or the potential for flood risk to be increased elsewhere
  • Whether the development has the potential to increase the degree of surface water run-off from the site
  • Whether the proposed development would have a negative impact on a nearby watercourse or existing flood defences, with respect to maintenance or structural integrity
