Woodbridge, Suffolk
A Design and Build contract providing a new public library with improved facilities within the former primary school building. Redevelopment of the site also includes construction of 21 bespoke residential properties within the centre of Woodbridge.
Our commission included assessment of the existing structure and detailing of works required to accommodate the internal alterations within the former school buildings to form the new library and five residential dwellings.
The remaining residential properties comprised a further thirteen houses of traditional masonry construction utilising engineered joists to achieve larger clear spans, and a further three flats incorporating concrete floors to suit robust details and achieve the balcony detailing. Trench fill foundations were used with depths derived to suit clay subsoils and the influence of the adjacent mature trees.
