Following acquisition of an existing retail park by Glasswells Ltd, the development is to extend internally and externally, remodel the existing portal framed unit to provide an enhanced retail store with a quality feel.

The existing structure is to be completely refurbished including recladding of the roof and elevations. A mezzanine floor will be introduced across the entire footprint of the building to increase the shop floor area. Two small extensions to the front are incorporated to create a modern look to the store.

Commission:-

• Design of the steelwork framed extension and mezzanine floor structure
• Design of a piled foundation system due to 3m of made ground beneath the building
• Careful detailing of the scheme due to Anglian Water sewers running diagonally under the building and existing foundation arrangement
• Assessment of the existing structure
