THE GREAT GATE, TRINITY COLLEGE

The Great Gate at Trinity College was built in 1530 and is the largest of all the college gates. The timber gates have suffered significant distortion due to continuing movement over time.
This scheme involved specifying sympathetic strengthening and restoration techniques to ensure the long term stability of the gates whilst not compromising their appearance.
