FOOTBRIDGE IN HIGHGATE INFANT SCHOOL GROUNDS,
Kings Lynn, Norfolk
This rather sorry looking Oak footbridge was originally designed and built by Waveney based Woodcarver Mark Goldsworthy. Unfortunately the ravages of time and vandalism has left the bridge in an unsafe condition, forcing the local Authority to prevent access.
We have subsequently been engaged by NPS to firstly survey the structure and provide solutions for repair.
The Client has selected a medium term option to realign the bridge, both vertically and horizontally, in conjunction with other strengthening and remedial works to bring the footbridge back into use.
Our proposals include the addition of stainless steel strengthening plates and under-deck bracing to reinstate stiffness in the bridge.
